My name is Miss Ali, and I am so excited to be the Lead Turtle Teacher this year. Last year I joined the All Saints Team as the Team Lead Teacher over the Frog and Bumblebee classrooms!
I grew up in Washington, D.C., and started teaching as a thirteen-year-old assistant teacher at an early year’s school and at my dance studio. By the time I was sixteen, I was leading dance classes on my own! I am passionate about arts, movement, and music, so you can expect to see those incorporated into the classroom this year! While pursuing my undergraduate degree, I worked as a care-giver and a baby-sitter to several children, which piqued my interest in early childhood development.
In undergrad, I studied English literature and fine arts. I love to read, and believe that narrative, books, and methods of story-telling are incredible sources of joy and tools for growth in the classroom and outside. I also love being outside, and hope to spend lot’s of time exploring the natural world with all of you.
After getting my B.A. from Fordham University, I moved back to the DMV. I have worked as a social media coordinator for Vox Media publications like Curbed, Grub Street, The Cut, Intelligencer, and New York Magazine. My first love is working with children and I am thrilled to be back in the classroom – and to be working with all of you – this year!
